What date is the 2024 presidential election and when is early voting?

Just hours after President Joe Biden made his historic announcement on Sunday that he was ending his re-election campaign, Vice President Kamala Harris announced that she is running for president and will be among the candidates in the fall.

The Democratic National Convention will take place next month in Chicago. The Republican National Convention concluded Thursday night in Milwaukee, where former President Donald Trump formally accepted the party’s nomination and announced Sen. J.D. Vance of Ohio as his running mate.

But when is the election? Which states will have early voting soon?

Here’s what you need to know about the 2024 elections and when you can vote:

When is Election Day 2024?

The 2024 election will take place on November 5, just over 100 days after Biden announced he would not run for another term.

Early voting will again be possible this year, with several states starting the process in a few weeks.

This process allows American citizens with valid identification to vote in person at a polling station before the presidential election.
