LUBBOCK, Texas — Lubbock police asked the public for help Saturday morning in locating the mother of a newborn baby who was found in a dumpster near 4th Street and Cherry Avenue.

LPD said the baby was found around 4 a.m. Saturday morning. Anyone with information about the birth or circumstances was asked to call Crime Line at (806) 741-1000.

“We want to reiterate that callers can remain anonymous,” LPD said.
