Lakewood Ranch TSA Team Excels at National Conference

Kudos to Lakewood Ranch High’s Technology Student Association.

Represented by recent graduates Bricklayer Engelsburg and upcoming juniors Zacharias Kersey And Gavin MooreThe Mustangs’ TSA finished fifth in the nation in the Webmaster event at the annual conference last month in Orlando. The Webmaster Project focused on green energy initiatives to reduce the negative impact of fossil fuels.

Robert Collier is the LRHS TSA advisor and vocational education teacher.

TSA is a national organization of students engaged in projects in the fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics.

· Speaking of LRHS, former Mustang Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie brings quite the NFL resume to the Bayshore High football coaching staff.

DRC was a first-round draft pick of the Arizona Cardinals out of Tennessee State in 2008 and played 12 years in the league as a cornerback. He was a Pro Bowler in 2009 and 2015 and was named second-team All-Pro in 2016.

In addition to three seasons in Arizona, he spent two in Philadelphia and one in Denver, where he played in Super Bowl XLVIII, followed by four seasons with the New York Giants after signing a $35 million free agent deal in 2014. He also spent one season in Oakland and another in Washington.

DRC was also recently inducted into Tennessee State’s Hall of Fame, where he was named All-America in 2007.

Bayshore recently appointed Ace Sandersa former Manatee High star with NFL experience as a head coach.

· The Manatee County Sheriff’s Office Explorers performed well at the recent Florida Sheriff’s Explorers Association Summer State Conference competition in Orlando. Mason Dagostino came second in tyro rim fire and Adey Andrews, Mason Dagostino, Daniel Diaz-Macedo And Yarn Thomas were second in crime scene investigations.

· Retired Fire Chief of Williamsport, Pennsylvania Dean Heinbach recently made his first-ever hole-in-one, on the 126-yard 16th hole with a 9-iron at Peridia Golf and Country Club.

· And a historian of the Pittsburgh Pirates Jim Trdinich reach the Big 6-0!
