NORTH DAKOTA (KXNET) — A key addition to the Burleigh County Sheriff’s Department’s furry police force has just retired.

According to the department, K9 Profi has been a member of the K9 unit for 7 years. Together with Deputy J. Citta, the dog was able to deliver a powerful blow to keep the community safe.

Citta and Profi have together completed hundreds of implementations and held dozens of community meetings and presentations.

According to the department, deploying a sheriff’s dog is no easy task. It requires 24-hour dedication to care for the four-legged police force.

Profi will continue his retirement in the hands of his most trusted companions, the Citta family.

K9 Profi now stands for the last time at 10-42 and the department thanked the dog for his hard work.
