RAPID CITY, SD (KOTA) – Tarita Silk walks from Rapid City to the Badlands to raise awareness about human trafficking.

Silk will undertake this journey during the week of July 20th and will walk as far as she can each day.

The South Dakota Missing Persons page has listed 19 minors missing so far in July. When Silk learned how many people were missing in June and July, she had to take action.

“My main goal is to shed some light on this and show that we in the communities care,” Silk said.

Silk said if you would like to support her on this journey, you can walk with her, give her water, and keep an eye out for missing persons or suspicious activity in your community.
