Grand Forks’ Duane Wages, Koby Kuenzel reach NDGA Match Play Championship semifinals – Grand Forks Herald

GRAND FORKS — The semifinals of the North Dakota Golf Association Match Play Championship have been set and Grand Forks’ Duane Wages will compete for a spot in the championship on Sunday.

Wages survived four playoff holes against Bemidji State’s Logan Schoepp to reach the semifinals.

That semifinal will be a battle between Grand Forks residents. Wages, the fifth-seeded golfer and a volunteer assistant coach for UND men’s golf, will face No. 17 Koby Kuenzel Sunday morning at Grand Forks Country Club. Kuenzel plays at Bemidji State.

The other semifinal will be between No. 3 Sean Moore, an incoming freshman at North Dakota State, and No. 7 Nate Peyerl, a UND golfer.

The semi-finals are scheduled for 7:30 am

The championship will follow around 12:10

Kuenzel defeated UND’s Grayson Wetch in the quarterfinals. Moore defeated Kasen Rostad, a junior at Minot North, and Peyerl defeated Gehrig Geiss, a golfer at Jamestown.
