Luke Combs Drinks Beers With Glen Powell & ‘Twisters’ Stars At Concert

Luke Combs’ recent concert featured guest appearances from the stars of the latest Hollywood blockbuster.

During his Growin’ Up and Gettin’ Old tour stop at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey on Friday (July 19), the country singer was joined onstage by Whirlwinds cast members Glen Powell, Daisy Edgar-Jones and Anthony Ramos.

In fan captured footage Posted on social media, the actors can be seen carrying beer cans as they walk onto the stage in front of thousands of people. After reaching Combs, they throw the foam next to the “Cold Beer Calling My Name” singer, then toss the empty cans into the cheering crowd. Edgar-Jones appeared to struggle to finish the drink, but passed it to Powell, who quickly downed it.

“So this happened,” Edgar-Jones captioned a video of the incident on her Instagram Story, showing Combs and her Whirlwinds co-stars. Ramos reposted the clip and added the line, “The most legendary moment.”

The epic moment was in honor of the theatrical release of Universal Pictures’ Whirlwindswhich is the sequel to the 1996 classic film VortexThe new summer film has already gotten off to a strong start at the box office, with forecasters predicting a domestic opening of $74.6 million, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The Whirlwinds The cameos on Combs’ NJ were fitting because the county star’s original song, “Ain’t No Love in Oklahoma,” is featured on the film’s soundtrack. The powerful track has already reached No. 10 on the Billboard Hot 100. Billboard‘s Country Airplay chart after just nine weeks. Other country music heavyweights on the collection include Miranda Lambert, Kane Brown, Lainey Wilson, Shania Twain and Jelly Roll.

According to Combs’ manager, the singer was excited to participate in the soundtrack.

“We wanted to do this because it wasn’t a remake of a classic, it was a continuation of the story of the film, and we felt like the film was going to be an epic moment to be a part of,” says Chris Kappy. Billboard“The team at Atlantic and Universal was very professional and fun to work with, and gave Luke complete creative control over the song and trusted him — so that makes it easier to let the artist do his job.”
