Doctor Kevin O’ConnorThe President’s Physician gave an update on the President Joe Bidens health on Saturday (July 20). Biden was diagnosed with COVID-19 on Wednesday (July 17) while campaigning in Las Vegas, Nevada.

According to Dr. O’Connor, Biden has the KP .2.3 variant of the COVID-19 virus, which is responsible for a third of new infections in the United States.

Dr. O’Connor said Biden has completed his sixth dose of Paxlovid and “his symptoms continue to steadily improve.” However, “he continues to have a loose, nonproductive cough and hoarseness.”

“His pulse, blood pressure, respiratory rate and temperature remain absolutely normal. His oxygen saturation remains excellent on room air. His lungs remain clear,” Dr. O’Connor wrote in a letter to the White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre.

“The President continues to tolerate the treatment well and will continue PAXLOVID as planned. He continues to perform all of his presidential duties,” Dr. Oconnor added.
