Where Davante Adams of the Las Vegas Raiders considers himself one of the best WRs in the NFL

Even as he enters his 11th NFL season, Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Davante Adams still believes he’s the best wideout in the league.

He also said as much when he recently ranked his top five wide receivers in the NFL on the podcast “Club Shay Shay” with NFL legend Shannon Sharpe.

“When you say top, 1-7 (himself), you probably go 18 (Justin Jefferson) after that,” Adams said. “Look, the thing is, man. I feel like the Jets, he’s changed it a little bit, but the last six years, there’s only been one guy that people can’t pick out of that top three, and that’s me. So, I guess if you’re talking about my favorite right now, I’d say CeeDee Lamb … I’d put CeeDee fourth, (Calvin) Ridley third, and fifth is always the hardest for me because it’s too many guys, man. It’s not like when I came into the league, you had the same top three guys that people talk about.”

Adams would later select Ja’Marr Chase at No. 5, with AJ Brown also considered.

Most would probably say Adams has been passed over as the league’s best receiver. When you talk about Jefferson, you’re talking about a generational wideout entering just his fifth NFL season with three Pro Bowls, an Associated Press first-team All-Pro selection and an Offensive Player of the Year award to show for it.

When it comes to who has dominated the longest, the honor obviously goes to Adams.

The Raiders wide receiver is certainly right about one thing: Today’s elite group of receivers is a lot different than it used to be. You could easily say we’re in the golden age of wide receivers, as each of the future Hall of Famers on Adams’ roster makes a case for being the best year in and year out.

What makes Adams unique is that he’s been in the running for the last six or seven years, and his case as the No. 1 receiver can still be made today.
