Christopher Martin Hayes, affectionately known as Chris or “Hayes” to his friends and family, passed away on July 13, 2024 in Greer, South Carolina. Born on October 29, 1984 in Portland, Oregon, Chris was a man of warmth and creativity who left an indelible mark on the hearts of those he met.

Chris was the beloved son of the late Gregory Francis Hayes and Dee Irene Fender. He shared a beautiful and loving marriage with his devoted wife, Christa Eran Clark, who was his partner in all of life’s adventures.

A proud alumnus of the University of Florida, Chris earned his bachelor’s degree and carried the spirit of his alma mater with him throughout his life. His professional journey as a merchandiser at Breakthru Beverage was marked by his thoughtful approach to work and his ability to connect with people from all walks of life.

Chris was an avid golfer and disc golf enthusiast, who enjoyed the challenge and camaraderie of the games. His love of the outdoors extended to hiking and camping, where he could often be found exploring the beauty of nature with a camera in hand.

Chris was described by those who knew him as thoughtful, adventurous and creative. He approached each day with a sense of wonder and a desire to make the most of every moment. His adventurous spirit and creative outlook inspired many and his thoughtfulness touched the lives of everyone he met.
