Bitcoin Climbs Above $67,500 After 5 Weeks

Bitcoin’s price rose above $67,500 again on Friday, for the first time in more than five weeks.

Bitcoin saw its price rise to as high as $67,503 during the day, from just below $67,000 at 6:20 PM EDT, marking a daily gain of 4.7%. It has risen 15.9% in the past seven days, News.Az reported, citing foreign media.

Ethereum, the world’s largest altcoin by market cap, traded at $3,520, up more than 2.5% daily. Over the past week, the coin has risen 12.7%.

According to CoinMarketCap, a website that tracks digital asset prices, the cryptocurrency market was worth $2.43 trillion, up 4.1% in a day.

Bitcoin, the world’s largest cryptocurrency, fell to a low of $53,727 on July 5, erasing all of the previous four-and-a-half months of gains, when the crypto market was valued at around $2 trillion.

The rally comes as investors hope the administration will be more crypto-friendly if Donald Trump and his running mate JD Vance win the White House in November.

According to multiple reports, Vance owned as much as $250,000 worth of Bitcoin as of 2022.

After surviving an assassination attempt at a campaign rally in Pennsylvania over the weekend, Trump said he will attend the Bitcoin conference in Nashville, Tennessee, from July 25 to 27.
