Sherry Miller McGarvey 1944-2024 | News, Sports, Jobs

BERLIN CENTER — Sherry Miller McGarvey went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, July 16, 2024.

Sherry was born on November 10, 1944, a daughter of the late Francis C. and Mildred Kale Miller. She lived most of her life in the Berlin Center/Ellsworth area.

Sherry worked most of her adult life, starting at Farmers National Bank in Canfield, Johnson Physical Therapy in Austintown and finishing her career at Winkle Industries in Canfield and Alliance.

In her younger years, she enjoyed gardening, bowling, and baking. She also enjoyed reading, television, puzzles, and crosswords. Sherry looked forward to playing cards and monthly lunches with her classmates.

Sherry most enjoyed her time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Sherry was an active lifelong member of Mt. Moriah Lutheran Church in Berlin Center, where she served on the church council and as treasurer for 20 years.

Sherry is survived by two children with her first husband, Paul (Donna) Bowman of Canfield and Pamela (Lex) Murray of Salem; seven grandchildren, Stevie, Jacob, Jess, Katie, Lex, Zachary and Alexandria; and nine great-grandchildren. Sherry is also survived by two brothers, Donald (Sandra) Miller of South Carolina and James (Lila) Miller of Berlin Center; two sisters, Arlene Miller of Austintown and Michelle (James) Benge of Mineral Ridge; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She married Charles McGarvey on October 9, 1981. They were together until his death on November 5, 2018.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was survived by her two brothers, David Miller and Kenneth Miller, her three sisters, Linda Roofner, Kathy Gongaware and Shirley Sickle, and her beloved niece, Denise.

Friends may call at Lane Funeral Homes, Canfield Chapel on Monday, July 22, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM.

The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 23, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Mt. Moriah Lutheran Church.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Mt. Moriah Lutheran Church, 4626 S. Pricetown Road, Berlin Center, OH 44401.
