The Green Bay Packers are trying to extend their Super Bowl window in this next phase of their franchise. Given that they are one of the youngest teams in the NFL, that window seems wide open (assuming they live up to their potential).

A key part of their success has been the addition of numerous young but talented weapons around Jordan Love. A new weapon has been added to Love today.

The Green Bay Packers Add Former Cleveland Browns Wide Receiver

According to multiple reports:

Right before training camp begins, the Green Bay Packers have completed their roster. In an announcement on Friday, the Packers announced the signings of wide receivers Rory Starkey and Jalen Wayne.

Alex McGough, a former USFL MVP quarterback turned receiver, was waived/injured to make room for these moves. As a result of Kenneth Odumegwu’s roster exemption through the International Pathway Program, the team now has 91 players.

According to the Packers’ official website:

Wayne (6-2, 210), a first-year player out of South Alabama, entered the league with the Buffalo Bills as an undrafted free agent in May 2023. He also spent time with the Cleveland Browns during the 2023 preseason and the CFL’s Montreal Alouettes in 2024.

Wayne appeared in 61 games in six seasons at South Alabama (2017-22), hauling in 152 passes for 1,980 yards (13.0 avg.) and 14 TDs. He will wear No. 2 for the Packers.
